Is anyone else’s stomach flip flopping in anxieticipation of this chapter?
My stomach isn’t but my head is flip flopping between whether I want this chapter to start in Siobhan’s PoV from where the last left off or from when she was captured.
Is it an “I’ve-been-told-this-in-a-dream-recently” feeling, or more of a “I-swear-my-shadow-has-a-mind-of-its-own-and-moves-out-the-corner-of-my-eye” type thing?
A clever little birdie told me that this week’s chapter title is “The Never-ending Cliffs of Gilbratha” so I think at best it might be a temporary interruption you’re feeling coming.
I love that she didn’t need anyone’s help to figure out what went wrong.
I love that she knows what was erased, to a point.
BUT HOW IS SHE SKIPPING TIME AND CHANGING FORMS AND IS SHE EVEN IN HER MALE CLOTHES IS SHE JUST SO ON AUTOPILOT SHE CHANGES CLOTHES NOW AND SHE JUST RAN INTO HER FRIENDS AND SHE’S HAVING AN ACTUAL BREAKDOWN AND OMG HOW DO WE FIX THIS HER MIND IS BREAKINGGGGGGG AAAAARRRGGHHGGHGHGGG!!!
For everyone whose fingers have gotten broken and bloody hanging onto the edge of “The Never-ending Cliffs of Gilbratha” (love it), I would like to announce that Chapter 248 is not a cliff. That is all I can promise. I’m sorry.
I’m holding you to that. My heart can’t take much more of this. You did warn us months back but I didn’t heed your warnings
Edit: I just realised it could be an interlude that has absolutely nothing to do with what’s happening to Siobhan. Like Oliver in Osham. Or Thaddeus contemplating his coffee. Or Gera having a cuddle with Miles. All of these are great in their place, but if they crop up next week I am going to foam at the mouth and start drumming my heels against the floor.
I don’t know if it’s Damien who’s going to learn about her. I think it’s fascinating to speculate what Lacer is going to think when his apprentice has terrible will strain right after Lacer’s fight with Siobhan.
The right idea? Doubt it. Wild speculation about their connection? Much more likely.
I’m calmer now, I texted my mother to read the chapter and we had a mutual rant about how cruel Azalea is not just magicking her entire series into completion so we can binge everything beginning to end.
I’m fairly certain this isn’t a hallucination. But who can be certain of anything when her mind has two competing versions of reality?
He really has no idea how much he fucked her head up but also how little he actually achieved. She’s such a queen of keeping it together even when she’s literally tearing herself apart.
I’m pretty sure the seal doesn’t survive this. Not with the tumult her brain is in.
Yeah… extra points for the “she’s never going to forgive him” camp.
I’d convey her feelings by sending his library token back with a simple message saying “memories are sacred, good luck with your books” written in a way to convey her emotions on the matter, like with a nightmarish background.
Although I really don’t know what’s going to happen now so all bets are off.
I think she’s lost time and just been on autopilot, rather than a hallucination - although both would explain the lack of reaction to whatever her outfit is right now:
She is still in Siobhan/RQ clothes and is hallucinating so why would anyone question her outfit.
Or she lost time while keeping the two parts of her will as far away as possible and had actually changed body and outfit “as normal” so no-one is mentioning it as it is what they usually see Sebastian dressed as.
The big part of this I wasn’t expecting is right at the start where it seems her will is able to store memories. First off at least part of her will was impacted by Lacer’s work so some of her will would logically be connected/linked/housed in her actual brain. That begs the question of how did the other part of her will avoid being changed in the same way…
This seemingly adds weight to the idea that her dual casting ability stems from Amber being locked away in her head I think?
