I’ve written a fear of flying bugs getting stuck in hair more than once, and it’s because I have that phobia. When I was a kid, a neighbor kid threw rocks at our honeybee hive, angering them and causing them to come out en-masse and attack all of the kids around. We ran and scattered, but the bees chasing me got stuck in my afro.
To my horror, they couldn’t extricate themselves.
