This is Billy, who is 12 years old. He was a rescue dog, that we’ve had for most of his life. He hates being picked up and workman’s boots.
Oh my goodness, I can barely handle this level of cuteness. (Why didn’t I get cute, fluffy dogs? I’ll never know.) Sounds like maybe he got stepped on a bit, or perhaps he just has good fashion sense?
Piper, my 9 year old papillon. She is an ex-show dog and the most well-mannered apartment companion one could hope for.
Piper is absolutely precious. I almost never see bicolor Paps! Papillions are on my list of dog breeds that I desperately want someday. How did you end up with her? My girl is an ex show dog, too - she just didn’t turn out, so we quit wasting money. Kai took a break from shows and will most likely be returning in 2024. (Or he will be neutered and achieve the title of “ex show dog!”)
I used to breed and show dogs in my teens/early twenties. Because of my experience, Piper’s breeder was willing to let me have Piper after she lost a litter of pups and had to be spayed. She is a dual American/Canadian Champion
That’s so wholesome. I love when dogs get retirement homes after showing/breeding doesn’t work out - they always seem to appreciate the experience of being “only children.” That’s how I’d like to get my next pup, actually.
Hers my dog Shadow she’s a poodle border collie mix and is almost 15 now.She can’t see super well and is going deaf but she’s just as sweet as she was when she was a puppy.
