Spoilers welcome.
Yay bonus chapters! The next one is coming soon, but you can still discuss while waiting.
Yes, this is an unexpected relationship twist! I always liked Oliver, I guess I am a shipper too. I am surprised Siobhan worked around to ever telling anyone about this Seal thing at all, she is so secretive and self denial too. But this is a huge step for her, and for Oliver as an ally too! Yaay!
Also, I am 50% through rerrading book4 now, again… I have to say, AzaleaEllis may be one of the most intelligent writers I’ve ever read. Just zero plot flaws, incredible scientific knowledge sprinkled in so perfectly (light, electromagnetic radiation, philosophy of self, endlessly on…). Combined with great action, characters, and worldbuilding, she is just the best. I am glad to be able to contribute to her writing via Patreon!
P.s. I just bought the book4 Audible book, in addition to all the books off her site. I was driving 3 hrs today, my wife didn’t want to drive, and I couldn’t stop in the middle of the Pendragon Corps capture!
My wife got caught up in the story, now she will read it too
One bad deal: I bought the books off AzaleaEllis.com, hoping she would get more $$ than via Amazon. Unfortunately, if you later purchase audible book, it does NOT sync up nicely with the book, even if you’ve sent it to Kindle app and are reading it there. No ability to access audio via book, like you can with an Amazon purchase. It made listening and reading parts sequentially a hige pain. If you plan on ever using some audio, I highly recommend you purchase the Amazon version of the book so Audible links up correctly, waaay better experience.
But still, the audio performance is also quite good, and I enjoyed it via audible app.
Absolutely glad she is ready to kill Hite! I am already looking forward to that scene! Is anyone else picturing him as that Grrman guy that gets face-melted in Raiders of Lost Ark 1??
While I personally still don’t care much for the ship, I’m glad Siobhan has at least one person in her life she can be (mostly) open with. She really needs it.
So I have a theory. What would happen if a part of your Will breaks. Will you remain mostly sane? Will you be able to consciously control the aberrants effect? Will you be tempted to break more parts of your Will to get even more powerful? When do you loose control? I’m afraid Siobhan walks the path of the Brillig soon!
I thought so, as well. I’m not certain that that’s the case - it could be a sensation associated with wards that hasn’t been mentioned before - but it feels like a development.
The thing in her head can sense spells before they activate and what kind of spell it is. Here she’s noting the feeling of magic as it closes around her.
Still, I feel like if she really did develop a new ability she would have remarked on it, so perhaps we’re just reading too much into it. I’m on the fence.
Oliver still reads rather fox-like to me so the pairing immediately brings to my mind the various Raven & Fox folk tales and poems. I can just imagine the two plotting in one of the historical pubs near me called a variation of The Fox & The Raven.
Why not call your ship Siover / Siobher and pronounce it shiver? (Olivan sounds like the name for a removal company sorry)
Just in case, Siobhan is pronounced shi-VAWN with the first syllable (Sio) having an almost skipped schwa (É™) or u sound (like sh-VON when spoken fast). I have not heard anyone pronounce it as she-ovan.
