I’m just checking to make sure I read the implications of the last chapter correctly, but… did Siobhan imply that the thing she was going to sacrifice (that wasn’t the stray’s vitality) might be their reproductive abilities? Or was the implication something completely different?
I didn’t think she was implying anything that specific. It is certainly plausible to me that she could be thinking of sacrificing reproductive organs.
Hmm. I didn’t get that, but maybe.
I was guessing that she was going to transfer the traits that make Bear hard to heal to the other dogs instead of transferring something from him to them. He’s apparently saturated with planar magic that will interfere with most healing and I’m guessing has developed resistance to some of his potion regiment by now.
Some strays can probably afford to lose some potential for magical healing and treatment resistant traits since nobody is ever going to give them this kind of medical treatment.
And if this leaves a bunch of dogs who are in some way associated with her running around with oddball magical traits, that only adds to her legend.
I kinda figured they sacrificed the boys testicles, now the stray dogs cant breed anymore, making there be less stray dogs later.
There is a number of reasons why, #1 male “seed” has a lot of life potential, a handful of those could have turned into dogs that lived for multiple years. But doing it this way, only a fraction of them count, so that is why so many.
If you stop and think about how much ego some men put into their ability to breed, and how vitalizing it can be to have sex…
A few other ways come to mind but I don’t know to put them into a sfw way if I can find the proper words.
But catch, fix, and release.
I am so happy that a lot of the dogs got adopted though! I still wish miles would have kept one
This was one of the best parts about the aftermath of that chapter - finding out the pups all found homes and were going to lead useful lives.
I probably care entirely too much about fictional creatures.
It was puppies though! Fur babies need to be taken care of!
I loved it. The doggos are quite wonderful, and i would have been disappointed if they hadn’t got their own little happy ending.
